The MS diagnosis App offers an interactive decision tree that leadsthe physician through the most recent (2010) McDonald criteria formultiple sclerosis (MS). Depending on the information entered bythe physician the required additional information is queried stepby step to reach a final conclusion on fulfillment of the criteriain the most efficient way.The approach has been created by Bernard Uitdehaag, professor ofclinical neuroepidemiology and neurologist at the MS CenterAmsterdam of the VU University Medical Center in TheNetherlands.The App also provides definitions of an attack (exacerbation)and for monofocal and multifocal clinical presentation. In additionthe App has typical examples of the key presentations of MS onmagnetic resonance imaging (MRI): periventricular, juxtacortical,infratentorial and in the spinal cord.The App is designed for use by medical professionals, inparticular neurologists.
